Housing co-operatives is a non-profit housing focused on community-building and community-ownership.
Those living within co-ops do not have a landlord and instead govern their the building themselves, with the help of non-profit property managers.

What is affordable housing?
In Canada, housing is considered “affordable” if it costs less than 30% of a household’s before-tax income.
Who does affordable housing affect in our community?
Affordable housing often targets vulnerable populations, such as seniors, those with disabilities, single mothers and their children, and individuals experiencing domestic violence. Our goal is to provide low-income individuals and families with access to safe and affordable housing.
How will Guyana Community House achieve the goal of building a community centre and affordable housing for the community?
Guyana Community House is organized by our community of volunteers, board members, and staff. Together, we are aiming to secure funding through a combination of private donations, government funding and grants, fundraising initiatives, and community bonds.
When will the community centre and housing be open?
We aim to secure and land commence construction between 2028-2030.
