Stage 1:

✓ Incorporate as a non-profit

✓ Build community awareness

✓ Applying for housing start-up and research grants (up to $150,000)

Stage 3:

• Use grant to hire staff

• Community consultations and outreach

• Developing business plan and detailed proposal

• Working towards securing government support through political lobbying

• Large fundraising event and community bond issue launch

• Preliminary design of the community house

Stage 4:

• Secure location site

• Work with architect, engineers and designers on detailed design

• Secure financing and CMHC mortgage guarantee for the project

• Hold additional fundraising events, including promotion of community bonds

• Continued engagement with the community

Stage 5:

• Development approvals and process

• Construction

• Sales of affordable condo units

• Working towards securing annual operating funding for the community centre

• Hold additional fundraising events, including promotion of community bonds

• Continued engagement with the community

Stage 6:

• Preparation for resident intake for rental housing co-operative

• Interior design of community centre

• Resident move-in

• Official opening
